With its newest foldable smartphone, the Oppo Find N5, Oppo is all ready, and this time the firm is looking for something remarkable. The Find N5 could challenge Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold6 and Honor’s Magic V3 with a slimmer and lighter design, larger cover display, and improved camera specs.
Having followed Oppo’s foldable phone series for some time, I have to admit that over the years, they have produced some amazing changes. This may be the ideal gadget for you if you enjoy folding phones but find them overly heavy or unwieldy.
Let’s go into the specifics and discover what distinguishes the Find N5.
Oppo Find N5: Thinner, Lighter, and More Potent
Foldable cellphones’ main problems have always been weight and thickness. Although carrying a big, thick gadget can be awkward, Oppo appears to have discovered a solution.
Weight and Thickness:
- 229 grams – Making it among the lightest foldable phones ever.
- Glass back variant thickness: 8.93mm (folded)
- Vegan leather edition thickness: 9.35mm (folded)
Having used hefty foldable phones before, I can say that daily usage really differs depending on the design. You won’t feel as though you are pocket-carrying a brick!
Larger Cover Display and Amazing Screen Quality
The bigger cover display marks yet another significant improvement. Many users—including me—have found it challenging to utilize foldable phones without unfolding them since their exterior screens are sometimes modest. Oppo corrected that problem!

- Cover Display: 6.62 inches with 2616×1140 resolution
- Main Foldable Display: 8.12 inches with 2480×2248 resolution
Using the Find N5 without unfolding it will seem normal given these dimensions. You won’t have to unfold it constantly whether you’re surfing, chatting, or watching movies.
Improvements in Cameras: A Mix of Good and Bad?
Two extra selfie cameras and a triple-camera arrangement on the rear will define the Find N5. There are some improvements even if some of the specs have Find N3 downgrades:

- Main Camera: 50MP sensor (upgraded from 48MP in Find N3)
- Ultra-Wide Camera: 48MP (same as before)
- Periscope Zoom Camera: 50MP sensor with identical 70mm focal length and f/2.6 aperture
- Selfie Cameras: Two 8MP cameras (downgraded from 32MP in Find N3)
Although I personally believe selfie enthusiasts may be let down by the lowered front cameras, the upgrades in the main and periscope zoom cameras will help to offset this. Should Oppo maximize the camera software, the Find N5 might still produce outstanding photographic output.
For a Foldable, Battery Life & Charging is Excellent
For foldable phone users, battery life is among their main worries. Foldable devices eat more power as their screens are bigger. Fortunately, the Find N5 is supposed to arrive with:

- 5,600mAh battery – a notable improvement for a foldable phone.
- 80W wired charging – lightning-fast speed.
- 50W magnetic wireless charging – excellent for wireless users.
Should these specs prove accurate, the Find N5 could offer among the finest battery performances in the foldable category. Longer screen time free from the continual search for a charger is therefore possible!
How Does It Compare to Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6?
The crucial question now is how it compares to Samsung’s forthcoming Galaxy Z Fold6.

In Last Words, Should You Wait for the Oppo Find N5?
The Find N5 looks like the ideal fit if you adore folding phones but detest heavy and unwieldy designs. It carries:

✔️ Strong cameras with updated main and zoom sensors
✔️ Huge battery with rapid charging
If selfie cameras are crucial to you, though, the drop from 32MP to 8MP could be unacceptable.
